It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Professor Emeritus James McConkey Robinson on Tuesday morning, March 22, 2016. In 1958, Professor Robinson joined the newly founded Southern California School of Theology in Claremont (now Claremont School of Theology) as Associate Professor of Theology and New Testament. According to Professor Marvin Sweeney, Professor Robinson was instrumental in founding CST¡¯s relationship with the then Claremont Graduate School (now Claremont Graduate University). In 1964, he moved over to CGU to occupy the Arthur Letts, Jr., Professorship of Religion, but remained an Affiliate Professor at CST until his retirement in 1999, when he was honored with emeritus faculty status both at CGU and CST.
